The Wound!

The hold-music for Long's Drugs featured a muzak version of Elvis Costello's "Watching the Detectives" played on a Casio keyboard.

And they say big ass corporations have no sense of humor.

FYI

You can now have as many Syndicated Feeds in your Friends list as you like. (Users were previously limited to a certain number of feeds based on a really bizarre points system that rated feeds according to their popularity; very popular feeds were inexpensive, points-wise, whereas your loner friend's RSS feed was prohibitively expensive, points-wise.)

That is all.

Van Helsing

No spoilers.

A fun ride, almost certainly made with tongue firmly in cheek. At least, I hope so, because we were all killing ourselves laughing at what seemed to be a most purposeful display of Over The Top; it would be terribly sad if this was all meant to be taken seriously.

Evidence for tongue-in-cheek: Kate Beckinsale in a movie with vampires and werewolves; Hugh Jackman with blades a-popping; Robbie Coltrane as a giant; the guy who played Faramir as the Vatican Q; and perennial bad-guy sidekick Kevin J. O'Connor as Igor. Oh, yeah, and the movie was dedicated to the screenwriter/director's dad.

Excellent.
