Conceptually I like the referendum process, but in practice it seems to be a way for the legislature to abdicate responsibility. My tax dollars pay legislators so that they can become experts on the issues and vote my best interest. If I have to do a lot of research, then they aren't doing their jobs.

I still haven't taken a look at the issues, but I'm inclined to just vote against everything just on principle.
