Big Fish

Tim Burton brings us yet another magical treat, but this one struck closer to home than anything he's done before. Let's put it this way: there's a lot more to relate to in a movie about a man trying to get to know his dying tall-tale-telling father than there is in, say, movies about apes, martians, Sleepy Hollow, grown men with scissor-like appendages, holidays gone wrong, and a quirky B-grade movie director. Big Fish is a gorgeous tale, and it damn near made me cry.

Go see it.

And, yes, there is a giant in the movie. He's played by Matthew McGory, who is reportedly 7'6" tall. In contrast, I stand at 7' tall. So if you've ever stood next to me, imagine me standing on cans of soup, and you'll get the idea.

Is it just me or does Danny Devito bear a striking resemblance to Ron Jeremy?

He did seem to have the Ron Jeremy-issue mustache in the preview, but the face is all wrong.

It's when he's sitting nude and disheveled. Seriously, Ron Jeremy.

I like to forget about the ape fiasco, myself.

I thought we had excellent seats, though.

Shush. That does not excuse the Helena Bonham Michael Jackson Carter.

Are you bagging on Markie Mark's Furry action? Damn, girl, you know he can't help that! ;-)
