For the Faint of Heart

(Or for the heart of the feint, hm.)

I'm more than midway through ripping all of Yoko's CDs into iTunes to be uploaded to her brand new Silver iPod mini, a surprise birthday present I'm giving her early, since she won't be here at the end of June for the actual event.

All of which is to say, 1) I'm earning more goood hubby points than any man ought to, and 2) damn, but iTunes makes this all way, way too easy. You want a reason to own a Mac? This is a reason in and of itself to own a Mac.

Yay, Mac!

Macs are great except that I can't view that video you linked on my PowerBook - although that may be a Mozilla config thing.
There are just far too many sites that assume one is using IE and has Windows Media Player or whatever the heck it's called.

So true. Sorry about that. I can offer you a workaround of sorts. If it's a Windows Media Player file, you can download and install Windows Media Player, then control-click the link in my lj and select Copy Link to Clipboard, then open Windows Media Player, then use Apple-U, then paste the link in, and voila, away you go. If it's a Real Player file, do the above but use Apple-L instead of Apple-U.

This isn't a really nifty way of doing things, but take some solace in the thought that your computer is in no way downloading and installing things without your permission or sharing your user info. ;)
