Once upon a time, I read the greatest dismissive review of a movie ever:
"Based on the blurb on the back of the book by...."
Troy is a lot like that.
If you want good battle scenes, rent Braveheart. If you want great hand-to-hand combat, rent Gladiator. If you want a good movie about Greek wars, you're going to have to wait a bit longer. If you're looking for Brad Pitt's ass, you want to loop the bit from Thelma and Louise. And if you want a decent interpretation of the Iliad, save yourself some money and time and don't bother watching Troy, 'cos this ain't it.
A lot of people are saying that Van Helsing is bad, but at least it's fun and entertaining. Troy doesn't even give you that.
