One of my favorite pieces of post-modern wit is Some of Us Had Been Threatening Our Friend Colby, written by Donald Barthelme. On a rainy day like today, it brightens my spirits immeasurably.

That is a seriously odd piece of writing.

Think I'll light a fire tonight and curl up with Ch. 1 of Jane Eyre - the contrast between the grey and snowy outside and the ruby velvets and fire inside the library she's in, never fail to comfort me and make me feel cozy. :-)
