My conspiracy side is rooting for Rove not to have done it and that instead he's nobling setting himself for a fall because someone way more embarrassing and critical to the administration did it. Rove is an Ashcroft -- he's a red herring, a lightning rod for everyone to send their wrath and paranoia. As the president's advisor, he's not subject to Congressional approval like say, oh I dunno, how about Rummy?
Soap opera politics are the funnest. rjray, palecur, and I were chattering over dinner and the conversation inevitably led to Sec of State Rice and Sen Clinton doing a girl/girl Playboy spread, which is got us hotter than we're told 50+ women should get us.
Still, the press is chomping at the bit as it were and I wish they'd be patient. I keep seeing headlines that accuse Rove, but then the body of articles use weasel phrasing because the Cooper hasn't directly stated it yet where anybody's allowed to hear.
Silly happy troll, there is no conspiracy anymore. A conspiracy implies secret dealings and people attempting not to get caught. Rove and Co. are so brazen that they don't care if they get caught. They believe they have impunity to do what they want.
They may be in for a surprise. If the special prosecutor in this case stays the course, our man Karl may just finally end up in a Federal Pen. Wouldn't that be a surprise to the Ollie Norths of this administration?
The only person Rove would possibly cover up for is Bush; there's no love lost between Rove and Cheney, and very few people are as vindictive and just plain mean as the President when he's betrayed... or denied Near Beer.
Oh blow my fantasy with your reasonableness. But you can't take away my naked Rice/Clinton fantasies! Only years of therapy and psychotropic drugs can do that!
