And yet in discussing this with a co-worker (who is a vehement homophobe), when pressed repeatedly to justify the restriction, he can only come up with "They shouldn't get married because it makes me uncomfortable." He's a very nice guy, and he doesn't wish harm on anyone, but he can't get his emotional reaction down to something like "it doesn't have anything to do with you, does it?"
