Huh. I'm more familiar with most of those than the songs on my own list. Probably because, embarrassingly enough, I had a hair-metal phase, and this was clearly its heyday. By the time I graduated, grunge was at its apex (seriously, why do people think it's still a defining characteristic of Seattle NOW, 15 years after Nirvana broke out?) and hip hop was on its way in.
