Is this the team/game that Jerry Rice was bitching about this morning on the news? He was upset that they'd lost their first home game and then lost to the something or other that sounded like Bangles, but I don't think that's right because I'm sure that Susannah Hoffs was elsewhere. He was very dismal when the interviewer asked him about the team's chances against the Broncos next week.

Jerry Rice plays for the Oakland Raiders (and he got hired around the same time I did). He was bitching because the Raiders just barely squeaked by the Bengals (the NFL team, not the animals, more's the pity) despite the fact that the Raiders are supposed to be good, and the Bengals are supposed to suck.

The team featured above is the Chargers. They beat the Broncos handily just last December. They were defeated by the Broncos (handily) yesterday. It was painfully obvious to anyone watching the game that this was mostly because the Chargers' defense apparently had been abducted by aliens and replaced with sluggish, brain-drained clones. I expect a full write-up in the Enquirer later this month.
