Space Ring Could Shade Earth and Stop Global Warming
(from Livescience.com)

"A wild idea to combat global warming suggests creating an artificial ring of small particles or spacecrafts around Earth to shade the tropics and moderate climate extremes."

Let's see, who could possibly object to a scheme like this? Oh, I dunno, how about

everyone who lives in the tropics???

* Slagiatt: Seemed like a good idea at the time.

Have you been outside today? It's beginning to feel a lot like Xmas. :)

Now riddle me this: the weather report says it's 86% humidity. You've lived through Tokyo summer, you know what muggy feels like. Does this feel like 86% humidity to you? 'Cos I'm not feeling it.

True, especially considering that there are really only two seasons in the Bay Area - grey and not-grey.

I would accuse the meteorologists of lying, but since they're Californians it might just be that they've mistaken "humidity" to mean "fog".

On that note, I wonder if the scientists who proposed the spacering are from around here, originally? It would certainly explain why they wouldn't think that anyone might object to an omnipresent shadow.
